Pantelleria: How to Arrive

whether you visit for the very first time, or come back again and again, the island and I are waiting for you!

Pantelleria is in the heart of the Mediterranean, located southwest of Sicily’s mainland.

The island is reachable from Sicily 365 days a year with a territorial agreement with the Region. Moments when the transportation to the island is suspended happen only due to bad weather.

A ferry ship connects Pantelleria from the Port of Trapani throughout the year; an overnight journey that takes about 6 hours.

During the summer season, a 2-hour aliscafo hydrofoil follows the same Trapani-Pantelleria route a few days per week, usually in the afternoon.

To be sure of days, departure and arrival times and to book you can consult: Siremar, Traghetti delle Isole and Traghetti Lines.

Pantelleria is also connected to the mainland with flights to the Pantelleria PNL Airport. Year-round service from Palermo and Trapani is provided by Danish Air Transport.

In medium and high season, flights from other Italian cities including Rome, Milan, Venice, Bergamo, Turin and Catania will be added with airlines such as Volotea, ITA Airways and Goto-fly.

For additional information, it may be useful to consult the website of the Pantelleria Airport.

«The end of one journey is simply the start of another. You have to see what you missed the first time, see again what you already saw, see in springtime what you saw in summer, in daylight what you saw at night, see the sun shining where you saw the rain falling, see the crops growing, the fruit ripen, the stone which has moved, the shadow that was not there before. You have to go back to the footsteps already taken, to go over them again or add fresh ones alongside them. You have to start the journey anew. Always.»
